Jeju National University’s Center for Human Rights (CHR) will hold special events on human rights education from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1.

During the period, the CHR will prepare special lectures and campaigns to raise the human rights sensitivity of the university’s faculty and students. The center will also utilize the commemorative period as an opportunity to actively publicize its projects on human rights education.

The events will be offered online or offline for the safety of the school members, due to following the national quarantine guidelines to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

The first-day program will be arranged for the faculty members with the theme of “Guidelines on developing gender-sensitive posters”. A preventive special lecture will also be given by a legal expert to teach the school members on how to strategically respond to human rights violation for themselves and for others.

On the second day, a campaign will be launched to raise the completion ratio of the educational course on the prevention of school violation. The third-day event will feature a special lecture by Kim Su-kwon, former ambassador to Finland, who will speak about the human rights trends of the international community.

On the final day, the CHR members will work with the relevant authorities for a thorough inspection to keep the school safe from spy camera crimes.
