JNU (President Kim Eel-hwan), Jeju Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Oh Young-hun), and Princeton University (Vice Provost for International Affairs and Operations Aly Kassam-Remtulla) signed an MOU on January 31 to start the "Learn + Vacation" program.
This agreement introduces a new way for universities and regions to grow together. It is expected to be an important step in global education and research cooperation.
"Learncation" is a unique education model that combines "Learning" and "Vacation." It allows students to relax and experience different cultures while studying.
By making use of Jeju’s unique environment, JNU aims to provide foreign students with the opportunity to learn and experience the local culture at the same time. This marks JNU’s first "Learncation" partnership with a foreign university and an important move toward becoming a global education hub.
After discussions with JNU, the three partners officially signed the agreement. The "Learncation" program with Princeton University will begin in June 2025, with about 15 Princeton students visiting JNU.
JNU President Kim Eel-hwan said, "JNU will give foreign students the chance to experience Jeju culture while helping JNU grow into a global education hub."
