The Brain Korea (BK) 21 Education Research Center of Jeju National University (JNU) and Chungnam National University (CNU) met in Jeju on Friday (Oct. 1) to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for cooperation and hold a joint seminar.
The JNU BK 21 Education Research Center for the Advancement of the New Energy Industry and the CNU BK 21 Education Research Center for the Convergence of Creative Materials co-organized the events to build a network and strengthen inter-institutional exchanges.
The MOU-signing ceremony and the seminar were attended by some 40 members of the two universities’ state-led programs.
Under the MOU, the research centers agreed to cooperate in co-hosting seminars and conducting joint research, while developing a shared curriculum.
The signing ceremony was followed by a discussion on the measures for substantive exchanges and cooperation.
Yoon Soon-gil, the director of the CNU BK 21 Education Research Center, gave a lecture on the transfer-free graphene electrodes with a high transparency, flexibility, and elasticity.
After the lecture, Yoon said the MOU and the joint seminar will spur the activation of the centers’ mutual visits for symposiums and the development of joint educational courses. The cooperation will lay the cornerstone for innovative outcomes of interdisciplinary research projects, he added.
Kim Sang-jae, the director of the JNU BK 21 Education Research Center, expected the exchanges with CNU, a leader in the field of new materials, will inspire Jeju-based researchers to develop new technologies in the new energy industry.
