Jeju National University’s industry-academic cooperation promotion center LINC+ will work with tech leaders to resolve imminent issues and drive economic growth in the Jeju region.

On Sept. 13, 2021, the representatives of the university’s LINC+ and two emerging tech companies named I-tact and JS Global Tech met at the university to sign a memorandum of understanding for collaboration.

Under the agreement, the three parties will jointly develop and commercialize the technology of recycling and upcycling used plastic products.

The university and the companies expect the trilateral collaboration to contribute to mutual sustainable growth and job creation in the local community.

JS Global Tech holds a smart grinding technology that could innovate the method of collecting waste plastic products. I-tact develops device controlling and monitoring systems based on the Internet of Things technology.

JNU’s LINC+ plans to combine the school’s artificial intelligence system with the advanced systems of its corporate partners to develop a safer and more precise plastic-collecting technology.
