Support from young trade experts provided for local specialty businesses

Jeju National University’s Glocal Trade Expert Incubating Program (JNU-GTEP) attended the 2021 Korea National Food Expo held from Oct. 7 through 10 at Busan Exhibition & Convention Center.
The expo is Busan’s largest national-scale convention specializing in local specialties. The convention ran more than 400 booths introducing the nation’s local governments, local specialties, traditional foods, and food industries. During the event, buyers were invited for business consultation meetings, as well as a live commerce show.
JNU-GTEP provided support on the offline sales and the business consultative meetings of its partner company named Onpyeong Modadeureong.
Lee Ji-yoon, a third-year student in the Department of International Trade, joined as a GTEP staff member. Lee said the field activity was valuable as it gave her a chance to gain field-based experiences while contributing to increasing the sales of the partner company.
JNU-GTEP promotes the products of its partner businesses and educate its promising young trade experts, funded by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. JNU-GTEP members engage in the entire event process on the site, helping with the business consultation meetings and the operation of promotional booths.
