BK21 Bio-Fisheries Industry Research Team invites expert for special lecture

 

Jeju National University Brain Korea (BK) 21 Bio-Fisheries Industry Research Team for Futuristic Strategies held a special lecture given by Han Young-seok, director of the Research Center of NeoEnBiz, a private-sector agency for the environmental risk assessment.

 

During the lecture given on Thursday (Oct. 7), the environmental specialist addressed the audience about the diversity and infinite value of marine plant resources.

 

In the previous event of Sept. 9, the research team invited Lee Bong-joo from the Jeju Research Center of the National Institute of Fisheries Science (NIFS) to listen to his speech on the research and development of assorted feed for fish farming and their applications.

 

On Sept. 16, another NIFS Jeju researcher named Lee Hee Jung visited Jeju National University to discuss the production of safe fisheries products and their safety control.

 

The latest series of lectures were held in line with the 2021 Fall Semester Forum of the school’s Marine Life Science Department. The forum was organized to provide the graduate school students in the related programs with an opportunity to obtain a broadened knowledge.

 

The forum will continue through to Dec. 2, featuring a total of 12 lectures presented by specialists from universities, research institutes, and private companies.

 

Jon Yoo Jin, head of the research team, expects the event to help the school to develop strategies to creating synergy between different academic disciplines, while fostering talented intellects that could meet specialized local needs.
