Parents observe children’s food service management

The 2nd Center for Children’s Foodservice Management of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province held a parental observation program.

Early on Thursday (Oct. 21), parents of children who attend Gounmom Daycare Center were invited to observe the quality of food served for their kids and their children’s eating habits.

The 2nd Center for Children’s Foodservice Management manages the levels of sanitation, safety, and nutrition in 163 local nurseries that provide daycare services for 7,723 children. The provincial center, operated by Jeju National University, developed the parental observation program to raise public awareness of its role and necessity.

During the program, the parents learned about the nutritional factors in foodservice for children and observed how food is distributed to the kids while securing the safety and sanitation in the cafeteria.

The parents gave high marks to the program, asking the 2nd Center for Children’s Foodservice Management to organize other similar programs.
