MA candidate from China wins best paper award in food and nutrition conference

Feng Fang, a Chinese student in the postgraduate program of Jeju National University’s Department of Food and Nutrition, won the Best English Paper Prize for Graduate Students in the 2021 Korean Nutrition Society International Conference.
The M.A. candidate’s paper is titled “Ginsenoside Rg3-derived from Korean Red Ginseng protects inflammation-induced inhibition of browning in adipocytes and C57BL/6 mice”.
In her study, Feng revealed that gensenoside Rg3, known to be rich in red ginseng, inhibits the reduction in adipocytes browning due to obesity and inflammation.
The research findings are expected to increase the value of nature-induced functional elements in preventing chronic diseases.
