JNU to implement KF Global e-School’s Korean language courses until 2024
Jeju National University has been selected to implement the 2022-2024 Global e-School, the Korean Language Education Program offered by the Korea Foundation.
With the designation, the university will continue its Korean language courses which began with the launch of the 2021 KF Global e-School project.
Along with other universities, Jeju National University will be participating in the KF program by offering video-on-demand lectures to overseas colleges by 2024.
The KF Global e-School program aims at providing courses on Korean studies and the Korean language to students in other countries through the foundation’s domestic-international network consortium.
Under the program, Jeju National University offers 10 VOD classes in Korean language phonemics, grammar, semantics, orthography, history of Korean literature, elementary and intermediate Korean languages.
Currently, the university runs on-campus training courses for students from overseas. With the latest designation, the school plans to hold training courses for invited students with the Korean language major.
Mr. Kim Won Bo of Korea International Foundation expressed his confidence in Jeju National University for accomplishing the overseas Korean language project.
Joining forces with the KF and the Jeju Free International City Development Center, the university has upgraded Korean language education by meeting the needs of professional teachers and and developing personnel networking. Starting from 2020, the school runs a program for Korean lecturers and Korean language researchers from eight countries, including Russia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand.
Kim Won Bo, head of the school’s Headquarters for International Affairs, expressed his confidence in Jeju National University for accomplishing the overseas Korean language project, emphasizing the school’s experience and potential.
