MOU for future education of Jeju signed by local education researchers

The Future Education Center of Jeju National University’s College of Education and the Jeju School Consulting Research Society agreed to cooperate in designing the future of local education, the education institutes announced Tuesday (Oct. 26).

Early on Friday (Oct. 22), the university’s Future Education Center and Jeju School Consulting Research Society met in the College of Education to sign a memorandum of understanding for exchanges.

The Jeju School Consulting Research Society provides specialized support on the ground, while the Future Education Center nurtures holistic glocal teachers tailored to the educational field.

By signing the MOU, the two institutes agreed to work together to form a learning community, plan joint on-the-job training courses for teachers, and mutually use the Future Education Center facilities.

Ko Gyeong-su, president of the Jeju School Consulting Research Society, said in the signing ceremony that an education college needs to provide field-based support for a forward-looking discourse. The MOU is expected to bring out tangible outcomes in that sense, he added.

Meanwhile, the Future Education Center will offer a special lecture on the ‘metaverse’-based classes on Nov. 12, marking its first anniversary. The center plans to hold other programs on the practical use of metaverse technologies in the coming months.
