Technological transfer agreed for cosmetic composition materials

Patent for wrinkling declining substance transferred

Jeju National University’s Industry-Academy Cooperation Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding on the technological transfer and commercialization with Ronas Cosmetic corp. on Oct. 27.

The transferred technology was developed by the research team led by Hyun Chang-gu, professor in the Chemistry and Cosmetics Department. The patented composition contains the extract of Litsea japonica (Thunb.) Juss, a plant known to be effective in improving wrinkles.

Specifically, the composition increases the synthesis of collagen IV, collagen VII, and laminin in the skin, strengthening the dermatologic conditions.

According to the leading researcher Hyun, the cooperation agreed between the school and the company is expected to help develop new products using the wrinkle improving substance.

Ronas Cosmetic is a leading cosmetics manufacturer, specializing in the stem-cell care products. The company plans to build on the agreed cooperation to open global distribution channels.
