기초과학연구소, 자율운영중점연구지원사업단 제7회 대중강연 개최
Public lecture on advanced energy technologies held

Jeju National University’s Research Institute for Basic Science (JNU-RIBC) invited a renowned chemist for the 7th round its public lecture series, which was held at 3:20 p.m. on Oct. 27.

The lecture event took place in the audiovisual room of Halla Library, featuring Jung Choong Hwan, researcher at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute.

The lecture featured the topic of “Nuclear Materials and the Energy Technologies in the 21st Century”, with a focus on ceramics and nuclear fusion energy.

JNU-RIBC’s public lecture series are sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the National Research Foundation of Korea, Jeju National University, and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.

Since its establishment, the JNU-RIBC has worked to educate talented basic scientists and run reach-out programs for Jeju residents. The research institute also cooperates with Halla Library in organizing the lecture event to better appeal to the public. JNU-RIBC plans to invite Hyun Jin-o, director of the Northeast Institute of Plant for the next round of its program on Dec. 15.
