Biotech research center internationally approved for testing drinking water quality

Jeju National University’s Biotechnology and Science Innovation Center has been internationally approved for its analytic skills of testing the quality of drinking water, the center announced on Wednesday (Nov. 3).

By winning the approval, the center proved its capability and credibility in testing drinking water quality for three consecutive years.

In September and October, the center participated in the international proficiency assessment program conducted by a globally recognized accreditor named Merck. The program annually verifies the analytic skills of the world’s government agencies, research institutes, and private analyzers.

In the program, the Jeju National University center was assessed to meet the standards in all of the 17 categories of testing drinking water quality.
