Society for Jeju Studies journal added to NRF registered journal list

The journal of the Society for Jeju Studies has been selected as a journal registered with the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) in 2021.

In 1978, the Society for the Study of Jeju Island, and was renamed the Society for Jeju Studies in 1996. The society was registered as a corporation entity the following year.

Since its establishment, the society has attempted interdisciplinary understanding of Jeju Island and hosted a range of academic events.

The society’s journal on regional studies was first published in 1984 and the 56th issue was recently released. In 2019, the journal was announced as a candidate to be listed on the NRF register. The NRF has recently conducted the ensuing assessment and decided to elevate the status of the journal to a registered one.

The Society for Jeju Studies journal is published twice every year (February and August), featuring academic papers and reports on the overall disciplines of Jeju studies.
