Talent incubating program offered for local undergraduates

 

Jeju National University’s Regional Leading University Promotion Center held a big data-based tour product designing program for local students, the center announced on Tuesday (Nov. 2).

 

From Oct. 28 to 30, 20 students of Jeju National University and Jeju Tourism University attended the center’s training course, titled “Great Big Data X Tour Product Designing”.

 

The program was prepared to help students build capabilities of analyzing big data and planning trendy tour products.

 

The students were grouped into a team of two members to understand big data and practiced the provision of information about real-time traffic congestion. The program also taught the students about creating a brand using newly developed tour products.

 

In the after-program assessment, a Jeju National University steam won the first prize for suggesting a virtual reality application that uses data of T-map navigation users and the related geographical information service.
