‘Open Lap’ scheduled to search for the future of new energy industry

Jeju Education Research Program for New Energy Industries held its ‘3rd Open Lab’ event on Nov. 12

 

Jeju Education Research Program for New Energy Industries (Program Leader, Professor Kim Sang-jae) of BK21 Stage 4 is to hold an open lab event for undergraduates on Nov. 12th to introduce new energy industries.

 

In the event, graduate mentors selected from the Program reveal 18 labs from three major fields including energy production, energy storage, and the management of energy supplies and demands.

 

Also, to recruit more lab personnel, explanations will be given as to the future of new energy industries, including the scopes, and simulations of some experiments.

 

To secure regional talents, benefits of taking part in BK21 such as scholarships, overseas training, cooperation between industries and academia, and supports on international symposium will also be announced.

 

Vice Group Leader, Byeon, Young-cheol, said, “The Open Lab will become an opportunity for regional talents from various backgrounds, including those from the engineering majors, to take part in the new energy industry. It is our objective to reinforce research capabilities by recruiting excellent graduates. Doing so will help Jeju to lead the new energy industry in the future.”

 

Meanwhile, the New Energy Industries of BK21 Stage 4 are a national project to nurture region’s talent for new energy industry from 2020 to 2027. The project is partaken by 26 full-time professors in the field, and 56 graduate students.
