생명과학기술혁신센터, ‘식품분야 숙련도 평가’ 우수분석기관 선정
Bio-tech center recognized for analytic proficiency in food testing

Jeju National University’s Bio-Science Technology Innovation Center has been recognized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for its proficiency in food testing.

The ministry reviews the analytic capabilities of the registered testing agencies twice every year. Those subject to review conduct testing on the samples provided by the ministry and submit the results for the assessment on their accuracy. The ministry’s decisions are announced as “satisfactory”, “less than satisfactory”, and “not satisfactory”.

The university’s center participated in the review process for its testing capabilities with regard to lead, cadmium, and vitamins in June. The items for the September review included benzopyrene, bacteria, and colon bacillus. The center was assessed “satisfactory” for both of the previous reviews.
