Capstone design team awarded trade ministerial prize at 2021 E2Festa

The Capstone Design Team of Jeju National University’s (President Song, Seok-eon) Innovation Center for Engineering Education (Director Ahn, Gi-jung) was awarded with the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy Prize and Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology Prize at ‘2021 E2Festa’s Creative Design Contest.’

Kakao Corp. was awarded with Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy citation for its industry-academy cooperation.

The contest was participated by 138 teams from 88 universities. One of JNU’s entries was ‘Brainer, a care service for epilepsy patients’ provided by ‘Brainer team (Kim, Yoon-ji from Culture & Formative Design major, Song, Seung-joon from Telecommunication Engineering major, Heo, Seong-gwon from Computer Engineering major, Hyeon, Ah-rim from Journalism & Public Relations major, and Professor Oh, Cheol-hoon),’ who took the 1st place with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy prize.

Also, ‘Birdhouse team (Kim Byeong-joo and Ko, Tae-seung from Telecommunication Engineering major, Moon, Ji-won and Bae, Min-ji from Culture & Formative Design major, and Professor Joa, jeong-woo)’ designed ‘Location-based mountain-climbing accident prevention system.’ The team was awarded the 2nd place with the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology Prize

Kakao Corp., which is taking part in a JNU’s manpower training program customized for industry’s demand was awarded with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Citation for its contributions to the cooperation between industry and academia that took place for 15 years from 2007 to 2021.

Director Ahn said, “I thank all the relevant institutions, including Jeju Special Self-governing Province, who helped us bear the fruits. We will do our best to rear and train young talents who will lead the region of Jeju with global competitiveness.”
