Education forum on creative intellectual properties held

 

 

JNU’s Intellectual Property Education Center (Director Kim, In-jung), The Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies in Jeju, Jeju Intellectual Property Center in Jeju Chamber of Commerce & Industry, JNU Research Institute for Subtropical Agriculture and Animal Biotechnology, and JNU Subtropical Horticulture Research Institute co-hosted the ‘Intellectual Property Creative Education Forum’ at the great hall of the College of Applied Life Science on Nov. 5th.

 

The forum focused on sharing knowledge regarding IP-related businesses and educational cases. The purpose was to set directions towards the future IP education and its development.

 

Researcher Kim, Yong-deok from Jeju Special Self-governing Provincial Office of Education helped audience understand the content and current status of the introduction of high school credit system.

 

Teacher Lee, Gwang-soo from Seogwipo Industry Science High School introduced cases of technology transfer through job development and provided vision for medium-long term education policy as he introduced IP education cases being operated in his school.

 

Director Shin, Gyeong-ho of Korea Invention Promotion Association explained the current status of IP education projects at university level and future direction. Director Cho, Seong-yong of the Center for Nurturing IP Experts in Gwangju and Jeollanam-do Region explained the current status of youth in the region and a plan at Chonnam National University to proliferate a new IP trend through the center’s project to rear IP experts.

 

CEO Lee, Hee-gyeong of Invention Story-telling Association explained a story-telling education linked with creative experience at the elementary level. This was followed by a panel discussion where the current status of IP education and how to improve it were dealt with as the main topics.

 

Director Kim, In-jung of JNU IP Education Center said, “Establishing a network between relevant institutes will become an opportunity for the new IP education to settle down in the region as we share our current status and future direction. We will do our best for the IP education to spread out through our network.”
