KOSIPER fall conference and annual meeting successfully completed

The Korean Society of Intellectual Properties Education and Research (KOSIPER) held the 2021 KOSIPER Conference and Annual General Assembly on Oct. 21 and 22.

The event was hosted by the KOSIPER and Kyungsung University’s Intellectual Property Education Promotion Center, and co-organized by the relevant universities that run the state-led IP education program. The sponsors include the Korean Intellectual Property Office, Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA), and Korea Technology Finance Corporation.

The conference featured the theme of establishing an ecosystem for the sharing of IP education. During the four sessions with a focus on the fourth industrial revolution, the participants gave presentations on the outstanding performances of their IP education and research activities.

The keynote speaker Hong Sung-il, head of the KIPA headquarters, briefed the audience on the new projects on IP education announced by the Ministry of Education.

The conference included special lectures on the history of IPs, the reformation of IP governance, and the ethical requirements for researchers.

Other lectures were also offered by invited speakers, who discussed the education of concept of TRIZ and the ESG management and strategies of companies.

The special session led by the sponsors highlighted the models of investing in new technologies and the ‘green’ finance and support policies concerning the carbon value assessment.

Kim In-jung, chairman of the KOSIPER, expected in his speech that the conference will help further systemize IP education an contribute to talent incubation and national development.
