Academic exchange agreed between JNU Tree diagnosis center and Hallim Park

 

 

The Tree Diagnosis Center of Jeju National University (Director Kim, Dong-soon) and Hallim Park (CEO Song, Sang-seop) concluded a business agreement for the diagnosis and treatment of trees and technological development.

 

As Hallim Park came up with its future development plan in its 50th anniversary of foundation and as JNU was designated the designated tree diagnosis center by National Forest Service, the two entities came to conclude an agreement for academic exchange.

 

Through the agreement, the two parties are to establish a joint diagnosis system for trees in their analyses on disease and pest. Their fields of cooperation according to the agreement include researches regarding the treatment for trees, development of new technology, knowledge proliferation for the people of Jeju, and education.

 

Before the conclusion of the agreement, ‘Special Lecture and Career Experience Program for Rearing Future Agricultural Talent’ were conducted at the College of Applied Life Science, JNU.

 

Also, 35 Bioscience & Industry students visited Hallim Park for a field education.

 

CEO Song of Hallim Park said, “The agreement will enhance our capabilities to diagnose and treat trees. It will also become a stepping stone for broader cooperation between the industry and academia.”

 

Director Kim of Tree Diagnosis Center (a professor of Plant Resources & Environment major) said, “The academic exchange will enable both the center and the park to utilize valuable resources in education and research. This will be a turning point in the development of tree treatment in the region of Jeju.”
