‘The Wisdom for Coexistence and Consideration in the Myths of Jeju’

 

JNU, Association for Korean Shamanistic Studies, and Society for Jeju Studies hold a symposium from Nov. 26 to 27.

 

JNU Tamla Culture Research Institute (Director Jeon, Young-joon), Association for Korean Shamanistic Studies, and Society for Jeju Studies hold a symposium under the theme of ‘Wisdom for Coexistence and Consideration in the Myths of Jeju’ in the 2nd Building of the College of Humanities from Nov. 26 to 27.

 

On the first day, Professor Heo, Nam-chun of JNU will give a keynote speech regarding the theme.

 

This will be followed by presentations of 1) Park, Jong-seong (Korea National Open University) on several aspects of the 2) Kang, Ji-yeon (Seowon University) on materialization of altruistic world shown in 3) Lee, Bo-yong (Gyeonggi University) on universal expansion through conflict and coexistence in <Munjonbonpuri,> and 4) Kim, Chae-ri (Gyeonggi University) on coexistence between nature and human in <Seogwipo Bonhyangdangsin Bonpuri.>

 

Presentations on the second day are given by Kang, Gyeong-min (Jeju National University) on study on the myth <Mego Granny> of of Jeju, and Lee, So-yoon (Kookmin University) on the aesthetics of coexistence shown in <Seogwipo Bonhyangdangsin Bonpuri.>
