Student council chair and club association chair elects announced

By-election to be scheduled for girl council and student representatives
Jeju National University announced Sunday (Nov. 21) that Yang Woo-seok (Accounting) and Kim Ju-hyeok (Computer Education) were elected the president and the vice president of the school’s Student Council, respectively.
Yang and Kim ran as the sole contenders for the university’s general election to determine the head of the student autonomous bodies for the 2022 academic year, which was held on Thursday (Nov. 18).
The voter turnout was 3,414 out of the valid 3,987 votes, or 85.6%. The pair’s campaign pledges include the hosting of job fairs targeting businesses outside Jeju, the stopover of the late night bus route 3003 at Sancheondan Station, the expansion of talks with the university’s president, the lifting of the dormitory curfew, and the establishment of a small-scale memorial hall for Jeju 4ㆍ3.
In the election for the School Club Association chairs, another team of single candidates consisting of Kim Su-hwan (Horticultural Environment) and Kim Min-hye (Orchestra) was elected by winning 87 out of the valid 96 votes.
The Girl Student Council and the Council of Student Representatives were concluded with no candidates. By-elections are scheduled to be held on Dec. 16.
In the case of the Girl Student Council, the latest plenary session passed the bill on voting for or against the existence of the council. The resulting poll will be held on Dec. 9, and whether or not to hold the by-election will be determined according to the voting outcomes.
