7th Nuri Bridge Program on voluntary participation and cooperation held

JNU Faculty of Liberal Education (Director Yang, Chang-yong) held a workshop under the title of ‘Improving initiating tools for enhancing engagement, voluntary participation, and cooperation’ on Nov. 27 and 28 at the Liberal Arts Lecture Building. The workshop’s purpose is to set directions in learning using the facilitation method.
In the workshop, participants were able to use the facilitation method to share useful tools which would improve their opening method effectively to promote further participation and changes in the region’s youth.
The courses of the program were: 1) understanding facilitation; 2) dialogues of facilitators; 3) facilitation process and its application; and 4) role and attitude of facilitators. The participants learned and had the chance to practice theory.
There were three people who already completed the course in the previous program mentioning, “It was not about completing the course. I was only happy during the exchanges with various people. Back then, the program lasted for only one day. Now I am back, and I am glad I did not miss this precious chance.”
JNU Nuri Bridge Program have been completed by 142 people in total for the last three years, including 17 from the 7th Session. Those who completed a re-do course for opening tool design in December will take part in the 2022 Freshmen’s Preliminary College as mentors. They will be able to utilize the tools they designed and what they have learned in the facilitation course.
Also, a constant education feedback system will be established so that they would remain active as table facilitators in future education programs of the Faculty of Liberal Education.
Director Yang said, “Learning begins from respecting, communicating, and teaming up with each other. We aim to provide various courses so that the youth and the people of Jeju from varying backgrounds would share their values.”
