현명택ㆍ이연건 교수, ‘대한민국 환경ㆍ에너지 대상’ 최우수논문상 수상
Environment and energy professors Hyeon and Lee awarded Best Paper Award

Professor Hyeon, Myeong-taek of JNU Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and Professor Lee, Yeon-geon of JNU Nuclear & Energy Engineering were awarded with the Best Academic Paper Award at the ‘13th 2021 Environment and Energy Awards’ at Imperial Palace Hotel, Seoul on Nov. 30, co-organized by Korean Energy Society, Korean Society for Atmospheric Environment, and Today Energy, and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Science and ICT. The criterion for deciding beneficiary is the number of citations for the past 5 years in the field.

Professors Hyeon, and Lee jointly published a ‘study on the establishment and performance evaluation of warm drain water-based heat pump system’ and won the prize.

The study copes with the following: recollecting waste heat from war drain water released from Korea Midland Power Co., Ltd., Jeju Headquarters; establishing heat pump system to supply hot/cold water to greenhouses of the Shinchon Flowers’ Agricultural Association; and evaluating cooling performance and proving stability through practice operations.
