경상국립대와 중점연구소 공동 심포지엄 개최
Joint symposium on plant biotechnology held with Gyeongsang Natn’l Univ.

Jeju National University’s Subtropical Horticulture Research Institute and Gyeongsang National University’s Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Research Center held a joint symposium on Friday (Dec. 3) at Jeju National University.

The symposium was organized to discuss the history and development strategies of the intensive botanical research institutes and share their latest research outcomes.

During the event, Professor Lee Hyo-yeon from Jeju National University reviewed the operational orientation of the research institutes for the development of subtropical horticulture. The university’s other professors including Kim In-jung, Jeong Yong-seok, and Kim Jeong-sik gave presentations on their research outcomes with a focus on botanical biology and biotechnology.

Lee Hyo-yeon, director of Jeju National University’s Subtropical Horticulture Research Institute, said the symposium was a good opportunity for the two institutes to jointly contribute to the academic advancement through strengthened bilateral partnership.
