Winners of regional undergraduate invention award announced

The 2021 Jeju Regional Universities Invention Contest, co-hosted by Jeju National University’s Intellectual Property Education Center (IPEC) and Leaders in Industry-University Cooperation Center (LINC+), announced its winners on Thursday (Dec. 9).

 

Previously, the external panel of judges containing patent lawyers and professional consultants reviewed 73 teams of participants to select the winners.

 

The Gold Prize (Jeju National University Presidential Prize) was presented to Park Ji-hyeon, Yoon So-won, and Jang Seung-a Computer Science and Statistics). Kim Ji-eun (Elementary School Art Education) and Lee Seong-jae (Biotechnology) were awarded the Silver Prize (presented by the Director of the Jeju National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation).

 

The winners of the Bronze Prize (presented by the Director of the Jeju National University LINC+) include the team of Song Yoo-min and Ko Jeong-kwon (Biomaterials), the individual participants of Hwang Ji-won (Elementary School Korean Language Education), Kang Tae-seok (Electrical Engineering), and Oh Ji-won (Korean Language and Literature), and the team of Park Jin-woo, Kang Myo-seon, and Jwa Dong-hoon (Management Information Systems).

 

The Encouragement Prize was presented to 10 students by the Director of the Jeju National University IPEC. The winning teams consist of Kang Tae-seong and Lee Jae-kang (Electrical Engineering), Kwon Tae-hong (Biology Education), Ko Da-hyeon (Ocean System Engineering), Jo Hye-min (Environmental Engineering), Oh Seo-yeon (Elementary School Korean Language Education), Kang Cheol-jin (Business Administration), Oh Yoo-yeon (Business Administration), Kim Jeong-min (Applied Economics), Kim Soo-min (Mechanical Engineering), and Yoo Jae-hong (Aquatic Life Medicine).
