Jeju National University’s Research Institute of Basic Science (JNU-RIBC) held a thesis presentation event on Wednesday (Dec. 8)

JNU-RIBC has regularly organized the academic event to encourage undergraduate and graduate students to conduct research in the fields of basic sciences. During the event, the center selects the winners of the best paper award and strengthens interdisciplinary networking.

The annual event was expanded this year, combined with the R&D Start Program and the Research Paper Contest for undergraduate students.

The status of the event’s best paper award has also been escalated to the university’s presidential prize (Grand Prize). The Grand Prize was awarded to the team of Choi Ga-mi, Ko Ga-yeon, and Kim Eun-yeong (Food Science & Nutrients). The winners of the Best of the Best Prize, presented by the dean of the Jeju National University Graduate School, include Kim Hyo-jin (Food Bioengineering) and Hyeon Tong-il (Chemistry & Cosmetics).

Song Seok-eon, president of Jeju National University, said during the award ceremony that he has high hopes for further strengthening the research capabilities of young scholars through the JNU-RIBC event.

Ji Yeong-heun, dean of Jeju National University Graduate School, also expected that the support provided by the JNU-RIBC will vitalize research exchanges in the local community.
