Jeju National University’s Brain Korea 21 (BK21) Education Center for Advanced Emerging Energy Industries and the school’s Basic Research Laboratory (BRL) for Self-Supplied Power Sensor and System held the 2nd BK21-BRL Joint Seminar on Emerging Energy Industries on Thursday (Dec. 9).
The BK21 Education Center and the BRL prepared the event to discuss basic research findings on nanomaterials, a driving force of the carbon neutral hydrogen economy and vibration energy harvesting.
The seminar was attended by more than 40 participants, including professors and graduate students from Jeju National University and Inha University.
The program featured presentations by Kang Byeong-soo (Korea Institute of Industrial Technology) and Jeong Jong-hoon (Inha University). Kang shared his research findings on the roles of fuel cells in realizing the hydrogen economy and carbon neutrality. Jeong’s presentation focused on the piezoelectric and triboelectric materials for vibration energy harvesting.
Jeju National University’s BRL for Self-Supplied Power Sensor and System aims to develop micro sensors and systems that can self-supply electricity using nano-generators. To this end, the lab works to design and develop core technologies such as nano-generators, energy conversion devices, energy storage systems, sensors, and memory devices.
Jeju National University’s BK21 Education Center for Advanced Emerging Energy Industries conducts a project of educating professionals in emerging energy industries from 2020 to 2027.
