JNU (President Kim Eel-hwan), the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Oh Young-hun), and KCGI (President Wataru Hasegawa) in Japan signed a business agreement on March 31 to revitalize the ‘Learncation’ (Learn + Vacation) initiative.
This agreement presents a new model for the development of the Jeju region and aims to enhance global education and research exchanges. It is also expected to serve as a significant opportunity for the revitalization of the Jeju community.
The "Learncation" program will leverage Jeju’s unique environment to offer Japanese university students an integrated experience of relaxation, cultural enrichment, and academic learning.
Under this agreement, JNU will collaborate with the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and KCGI to launch the program and develop a variety of educational initiatives that promote Jeju’s values and vision on a global scale.
Additionally, JNU will pursue various collaborative projects focused on education and research in connection with local industries. Special emphasis will be placed on artificial intelligence and IT, aligning with KCGI’s identity as Japan’s first IT-focused graduate school.
