'2014 세계 뇌주간 행사' 오는 15일 제주대서 개최
JNU to inaugurate 2014 World Brain Awareness Week on March 15 

The 2014 World Brain Awareness Week begins on March 15, 2014, under the joint sponsorship of Korea Brain Research Association (Prof. Na Hong Shik, President), JNU Medical Science Institute and JNU Institute for Veterinary Medicine. The brain awareness event will be held in the seminar room of JNU College of Life Sciences.

Main theme of the event is Brain Navigation, and the program is intended for laymen and general public.

The brain awareness week was inaugurated in the United States in 1996 and it has been held 3rd week of March annually around the globe; some 60 countries participated since its inception.

In spite of tremendous progress made in brain science in recent decades, there are many mystic and unsolved questions about the brain and its functional mechanisms. Brain science is regarded an unexplored area for scientific exploration in the 21st century.

The organizers of the brain awareness week event encourages youngsters, students and general public to participate in the open experience program to be offered. There is no charge for admission.
