College of Veterinary Medicine gets accredited in veterinary medicine first in the country

The JNU College of Veterinary Medicine (Lee Kyung Kap, Dean) acquired accreditation for the authorized teaching of veterinary medicine for the first time in the country, it was announced yesterday (April 8, 2014).
On behalf of the veterinary medicine college, Dean Lee received a certificate of accreditation from President Lee Heung Shik of the Accreditation Board for Veterinary Education in Korea, based on the board's evaluation of the JNU College of Veterinary Medicine program.
To achieve the accreditation, the JNU program in five specific areas (institutional efficiency, curricula, faculty and students, facilities and resources) was reviewed and critiqued by an evaluation panel which also made a site visit to the veterinary college in August 2013.
Following JNU's accreditation, Seoul National University and Kunkook University are expected to undergo accrediting procedure this year, and other university colleges of veterinary medicine in the nation are expected to file application for accreditation next and subsequent years.
