Ocean Science Institute presents scholarships and development fund

Jeju National University Ocean Science Research Institute (Lee Young Don, Director) presented Kidang Scholarships totaling 3 million won to Hamdeok High School students Lim Joon Seok, Choi Jin Young, and Hamdeok Junior High Schoolers Chung Eun Suh and Han Seung Min on Wednesday (April 23, 2014).

The Kidang Scholarship fund was established to commemorate the late Kidang Kang Koo Beom, Jeju native previously residing in Japan who contributed the land and buildings to the JNU Ocean and Environment Institute in his hometown of Hamdeok. Both junior and senior high school students from Hamdeok schools have been selected to receive the scholarship annually.
