Best prize winners Park Gyeong-ah and Persona Team announced
Jeju National University held the award ceremony for the 2021 JNU Reading-Friendly Campus Project on Tuesday (Dec. 21).
The prizes were presented to the winners of the book review contest and the book reading club contest. The first had 70 contenders, who went through a two-stage deliberation before Park Gyeong-ah (Bioscience and Industry) was announced as the winner of the Best of the Best Prize.
The Excellence Prize winners include Oh Seung-ju (Korean Studies, Graduate School), Baek In-joon (Elementary School Education), and Hong Seong-mu (Veterinary Science).
The Encouragement Prize was awarded to Shin Eun-gyeong (Nursing), Cha Hye-seong (Sociology), Ko Na-gyeong (Korean Language Education, Graduate School of Education), Kim Ha-eun (Tourism Development), Lim Chae-won (Korean Language Education), Kim Tae-hoon (Earth and Marine Sciences), and Ko Yeong-gu (Business Administration, Graduate School of Business Administration).
In the book reading club contest held for 39 teams, Persona (Moon Seo-gyeong, Lee Yu-rim, Kim Ji-hye, and Lee Yu-jin) was awarded the Best of the Best Prize. The Excellence Prize was presented to Salong (Oh Seung-mi, Lee Hyeon-su, and Kim Du-hyeon) and Expansion of Thinking (Ko Geon-hyeok, Yang Ha-kyeong, Han Heyon-ju, and Jo Hyeon-shik), while Value Ara (Hong Yeon-jin, Ahn Nam-ryeong, and Park Ji-won), Ethan Hyeyum (Jeon Yu-bin, Jo Eun-bi, and Jang Hyeon-bin), and Estrellas (Yoon Won-kyeong, Park Hye-ahn, and Jose Manuel Hernandez Otra) won the Encouragement Prize.

The Jeju National University Library has hosted the JNU Book Reading Campus Project since 2020, sponsored by the university’s innovation support program. The project aims to create a self-directed learning environment and build creative and critical thinking of the students through a customized reading course.
