WISET Jeju Branch runs biotech camp for girl high schoolers

The JNU WISET Jeju Branch (Branch Head Doh Yang Hee) organized the 2014 Biotechnology Basic Camp last Saturday (May 31, 2014).

The camp was run in cooperation with JNU Subtropical Horticulture Research Institute which organized the camp yearly since 2008.

The camp program started with a lecture on biotechnology basics by Professor Kim In Joong, followed by DNA isolation and detection and other molecular biotechnology laboratory practices assisted by graduate students at SHRI.

180 applicants expressed interest in participating in this year’s camp, and 85 of them were selected to go through the camp program.
