JNU picked for "University for Creative Korea" program

Four regional university development and academic focusing projects run by Jeju National University have been selected for continuing support under the University for Creative Korea (CK) program.

As the result, the university will be getting 18 billion won for the next five years (3.6 billion annually).

The projects picked for support include △Smart grid and clean energy personnel training (Lee Kae Myung, Professor of Electrical Engineering; funding ~ 1.6 billion) △Subtropical Agriculture and Life Science training (Lee Dong Sun, Professor of Applied Biotechnology, funding ~ 1.4 billion) △Jeju Cultural Contents Creative Personnel Training (Kim Dong Jun, Professor of Sociology; funding ~ 300 million) △Biodiversity-based natural cosmetics industry personnel training (Lee Nam Ho, Professor of Chemistry; funding ~ 300 million).

80 regional universities with 265 projects and 28 Seoul area universities with 77 projects have been picked for support from the government sponsored program this year.
