Prof. Lee Kyung Joon and predoc Hong Hyun Ki win Sajo Grand Prize and Superior research award, respectively
Jeju National University announced today (July 14, 2014) that Professor Lee Kyung Joon, member of the JNU BK21 program and Subtropical Marine Life Science Training Center-Plus (Prof. Choi Kwang Shik, Director), won the Sajo Fisheries Grand Prize at the 2014 Korea Federation of Fishery Industries held in BEXCO, Busan last week. Predoctoral fellow Hong Hyun Ki of the JNU Marine Life Science Department was presented with a superior research report at the same meeting.
Professor Lee won the prize based on his research publications peer reviewed by a panel of the award committee evaluators.
His research dealt with a comprehensive study of the effects of nucleotides on the nutritional and commercial values of Pagrus major, a member of snapper species.
Predoctoral graduate student Hong Hyun Ki presented his talk entitled "Physiology of the mussel Mytilus galloprovincialis two years after the Hebei Spirit oil spill" in English and was well received by the audience and the evaluation panel at the meeting.
