40% of incoming JNU freshmen prefer government and teaching jobs

One out of four this year's incoming freshmen hopes to land a government service job or teacher's position as their preferred employment choice after graduation from college.

According to a survey of 1192 freshmen conducted by JNU Strategic Headquarter on Recruiting (Lim Jae Yoon, Director), 27.7% of the students indicated their career preferences in government service work job.

The survey data revealed the following: teachers (12.6%), businesses and industries (12.3%), technical services (7.8%), research (6.6%), and business management (6.5%).

Less than 1 % (0.7%) indicated a career in primary industry jobs of agriculture, livestock and fishery.

Both male and female freshmen want a government service job as their first career job (28.4 and 27.0 %, respectively).
