부설동물병원, 취약 청소년 대상 진로체험 봉사 Career experience program offered by veterinary hospital volunteers Jeju National University College of Veterinary Medicine’s Animal Hospital is conducting the Career Experience Companion Program at Nohyeong Forest for All Children’s Center, Wolpyeong Light and Salt Children's Center, and three Seongsanpo-based Children’s Centers.
The program was launched on Dec. 14 and will continue until Jan. 6. The veterinary hospital designed the program to help children from dual-income families or single-parent families and exposed to weak educational infrastructure to understand career paths in the veterinary field.
Participants in the program learned etiquettes required for pet owners, listened to the heart sounds of pets, and measured their blood pressure.
Yoon Young-min, head of the Animal Hospital, said, “Although community service activities at universities are limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will do volunteer work with the help of local welfare institutions.” The veterinary professor expressed his expectations that the pandemic will be eased next year and community service programs will be carried out for more regions and institutions." |
