Living Science Class calls for 3rd term participants

With the support of the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and the organization by National Research Foundation of Korea and Cities of Jeju and Seogwipo, the Living Science program (Chung Seung Dal, Supervisor) invites participants for its 3rd term class scheduled from August 23 until October 18, 2014. The touring class meets at different townships, libraries and Youth Culture House around the province.

Venues of Jeju City include Hagwi Culture Hall (Aewol), Hanlim Youth Culture House, Ara Youth House (Ara-dong), Jochun Township Office (Jochun), Koojwa Youth House (Koojwa), Byeolbit Nuri Park (Living Science Class for Parents).

Classes in Seogwipo meet in Pyosun Youth House (Pyosun), Daejeong Youth Training Center (Dae jeong), Sammaebong Library (Seoheungdong), Andeok Youth House (Andeok) and Songsan Youth House (Songsandong).

Classes aimed at elementary school 3rd through 6th graders meet for an hour weekly for nine times during the term.

Topics to be covered in the visiting science program include making of mini electric fans, sparkling salt water butterflies, fullerene football, dehumidifying flowers, light colors and plant growth, seismometer, mosquito repellent, ultraviolet bracelet, on-water lighting bulb, and many others.

There is no fee for the class; cost for materials consumed is 20,000 won per student. Apply for enrollment by August 4 through 18 at each township Living Science Class offices.
