International seminar to discuss Jeju-Okinawa cultural exchange and peace

To promote cultural exchange between the two historically and geographically similar islands, Jeju and Okinawa (Japan), an international seminar is scheduled to take place at Audiovisual Center in Jeju National University Museum next Friday (September 19, 2014). Themes of the seminar include peace and cultural exchange opportunities between the two islands.
The seminar program will be co-hosted by JNU Center for Jejuans in Japan (Kim Dong Jeon, Director) and Tamna Cultural Institute (Kim Dong Yoon, Director), and supported by Jeju Provincial Government.
Presentations at the seminar feature such topics as △Okinawa and 4.3 literatures (Lee Myeong Won) △Militarization of East Asia and exploration of peace (Chung Young Shin) △Funeral tradition in Jeju (T. Takashi) △Social changes behind emissary relations (Kamiya Tomoaki) and others.
A proceedings of the seminar will be published by the JNU Center for Jejuans in Japan.
