Korean Language & Culture Center opens 2014-class of Jeju Vernacular School

Jeju Vernacular School awaits for Jejuans to learn about their life and culture of the past and present.

JNU Korean Language and Culture Center (Kang Young Bong, Director) opens a new school of Jeju vernacular opened last yearr to preserve and inherit the Jeju culture and language this year again.

The school operates the 2014 class from October 10 through December 31 (14:00 ~ 18:00). The class meets in Lecture Hall 1102, College of Humanities Hall #2.

The class contents include food, clothing and home life of Jeju people, farm and fishery businesses, and many other traditional life stories through the use of Jeju vernacular.

Director Kang Young Bong, Research Staff Kim Soon Ja and Kim Mee Jin, and former Jeju vernacular professor Ko Jae Hwan will serve as instructors for the class. A special lecture entitled "How to revive the Jeju vernacular about to extinct" will also be presented by Professor Kang Jung Hee of Hannam University.
