‘지역연계 대학 오픈랩 육성지원 사업’ 우수대학 선정

Open Lab for regional academic-industrial cooperation recognized

Jeju National University (JNU) received the grade of Excellence for its 2021 Open Lab Support Program in the interim evaluation conducted by the Commercialization Promotion Agency for R&D Outcomes (COMPA), an umbrella agency of the Ministry of Science and ICT.

With the latest COMPA evaluation records, JNU’s program will continue to provide support for different Open Lab events of its departments in the 2022 academic term.

In addition to the project cost of 1.2 billion won, the university will also receive an incentive worth 24 million won for earning the Excellence grade.

The Open Lab Support Program is a state-funded project which designates university labs as “open labs” to supply regional industrial businesses with customized technologies and human resources.

Implementing the program, JNU selects six Open labs closely related to regional industries, including those involved in the development of biohealth materials, functional foods and beverages, local indigenous microbiomes, fish seedlings, anti-fibrogenic pharmaceuticals, and shipping and ocean-related big data.
