JNU-HRC to be expanded to support tuition, dorm, and learning
Jeju National University will expand the Jeju National University-Honors Residential College (JNU-HRC) in 2022, a university program for excellent students living in the school dormitories, to foster future-oriented global talent.
JNU-HRC is a program introduced in 2021 to train creative and enterprising future-tailored talent with an international sense.
In 2021, the trainees were selected with certain colleges excluded, such as the School of Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, and College of Nursing. For an efficient operation, however, the program has been modified this year to provide support for all JNU students with excellent entrance scores and GPAs.
To this end, JNU has secured 1.5 billion won in its development funds and is seeking to attract outstanding human resources.
Meanwhile, the selected students will be granted scholarships for tuition fees and living expenses (for dormitory uses and learning activities) so that they can focus on strengthening their competencies.
In addition, the students will complete essential courses, including special programs for subjects (foreign exchange programs, etc.) and extra-curricular programs (language education for communication and global competence, reading discussions for problem-solving skills and challenges, digital education, and regional tours to strengthen personality and community awareness, etc.).
