Jeju National University (JNU) held the 66th Degree Conferment Ceremony for the 2021 academic year. During the ceremony, degrees were conferred to a total of 1,826 graduates, including 1,528 bachelor’s degrees, 245 masters, and 53 PhDs.

Originally, the ceremony was scheduled to be held face-to-face, but the format was changed to an online one by the government’s quarantine guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The university congratulated and encouraged graduates by simplifying the procedure and posting a pre-filmed video on its website.

JNU rented academic gowns and graduation caps when requested by graduates. It also installed and operated a photo zone for commemorative photos.

President Song Seok-eon said at the online conferment ceremony that JNU will advance further to create a hopeful learning environment based on the achievements it has made over the past 70 years since its glorious opening. “We ask you to grow into promising graduates that bring recognition of a leading, forward-looking university to JNU,” he added.
