강영봉·한삼인 교수, 제주도문화상 수상자 선정
Profs. Kang Young Bong and Han Sam In receive Jeju Culture Award

Professors Kang Young Bong (Department of Korean Language and Literature, photo left) and Han Sam In (JNU Law School) were named as 2014 scholarly division recipients of the 53rd Jeju Culture Prize, respectively.

Jeju Culture Prize was established in 1962 and it recognizes outstanding achievements in and contributions to Jeju’s cultural development through promotion of cultural and artistic attributes.

Since the inception of the prize program, 212 awardees and 5 organizations received the most prestigious prize in Jeju. Award presentations will be held in Jeju Art Hall on December 18, 2014.

Professor Kang was specifically cited for his lifelong studies and achievements in preserving the Jeju vernacular and for the education of students at Jeju National University. He published a number of scholarly works to his credit.

Professor Han’s prize reflects his contributions to the civic law education and to the examiner’s role in national legal certifications (bar examination and others). He has more than 100 scholarly papers to his credit, in addition to several law books aimed to enhance the public’s understanding of laws.
