Prof. Kim Sang Rim team records 2000 artificial knee joint surgery cases

Jeju National University Hospital (Kang Sung Ha, Hospital Director) announced today (January 14, 2015) that 2000 cases of artificial knee joint surgery have been performed by Professor Kim Sang Rim and his team of plastic surgery staff.

The surgery team performed 1000 cases of knee rheumatism surgery by November 2011, and now recorded the 2000 cases just in 3 years and 2 months.

Artificial knee joint surgery makes it possible to introduce a man made material piece into the damaged and degenerated knee, otherwise not readily treated by other therapeutic treatments such as drugs and physical therapy.

Dr. Kim said “Jeju is ranked number 1 in the country in inflammation of a joint and degenerative arthritis cases, and we will continue to provide effective surgical treatments for those suffering from the arthritic pains.”
