Ms. Kim Kyung Soo presents scholarships worth 100 million won

Jeju Gujwa Songdang Township resident Kim Kyung Soo (81) presented a check for one hundred million won to the university president, Huh Hyang Jin, to be used for scholarships last Monday (January 5, 2015).

The gift represents Ms. Kim's life-long savings from her farming work.

She lost her parents during the Jeju 4.3 incident, and she and her younger sister survived the tragic loss of their parents. As she had no chance to get full education, she decided to donate her savings to help the most needy students at Jeju National University. President Huh expressed his deepest appreciation for the gift and paid the respect for her generosity.
