Environmentally friendly agriculture discussed at JNU Subtropical Agricultural Biotechnology Project seminar



Subtropical Agricultural Biotechnology Training Project, a Creative Korea (CK-1) project at Jeju National University (Lee Dong Sun, Project Director) held a seminar on the environmentally friendly agriculture; its specialization education and management in the newly opened Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute auditorium last Wednesday (January 21, 2015).

The theme of the seminar concerned the specialization of subtropical environmentally friendly agriculture.

Assemblyman Kim Woo Nam, Chair of the Assembly Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Food Committee, delivered a keynote talk entitled “The present and future of Korea’s environmentally friendly agriculture.”

Mr. Yang Joo Pil, Director, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Section of Environmentally Friendly Agriculture, and Dr. Kim Ho, Professor, Dankook University, also presented plenary lectures at the seminar.

Formal presentations were followed by a panel discussion involving questions and answers. 

The academic departments participating in the training project are Plant Resources and Environment, Horticulture and Environment, Applied Biotechnology, Molecular Biotechnology, Animal Biotechnology, Industry and Applied Economics, and Food Biotechnology.
