New building opened for Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute

The Jeju National University Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (Ko Sung Bo, Director) opened its new building on the campus earlier today (January 21, 2015).

The institute is expected to provide all aspects of environmentally sustainable agricultural information, service and research-development for both the agricultural producers and the consumers in Jeju region.

Construction of the new building was made possible with funding of 5, 2 and 3 billion won (total10 billion won) from the central government, Jeju Autonomous Government and Jeju National University, respectively. The three-storey building with a basement floor provides a total space of 5280㎡to house several affiliated industrial partners, farmers consulting room, research and bio-resources laboratories, industry-academic cooperation department, agricultural economics and analysis laboratory , farmers lecture hall, and international collaboration department.
